Development and Marketing Manager
Part-time (30 hrs/wk)
Raíces Culturales Latinoamericanas, Inc., a nonprofit arts organization located in Philadelphia, is seeking a part-time Development and Marketing Manager to implement and manage current grants, fundraising strategies, new projects, and program or business opportunities as assigned. Additionally, this position will handle all marketing operations of the organization. Our mission is to increase public awareness of the beauty and diversity inherent in Latin American traditional cultures through music and dance performances, visual art, and educational programs.
Description:
Reports to and works directly under the supervision of the Executive Director to establish goals for the identification and procurement of funding from public and private sources in support of the organization’s programs and services and monitoring progress of grants received by Raíces. This position also requires the creation and placement of publicity materials for programs in the local and regional multi-media outlets in collaboration with other staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
○ Researching and analyzing viable funding sources in both public and private sectors for Raíces; initiating drafts and preparing grant proposals for the Executive Director’s approval; submitting grant proposals to appropriate entities on a timely basis.
○ Identifying and cultivating potential contributors for Raíces’ programs through research of new funding sources, examination of past records and knowledge of donor community, including individuals, foundations, corporations and associations; initiating contacts for developing funding relationships.
○ Preparing all press releases and marketing materials for dissemination in collaboration with other staff members.
Key Qualifications:
○ Candidate must have a BA degree and a minimum of 2+ years experience writing grants for nonprofits.
○ Candidate must have superior writing skills including editing for content, style and grammar with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
○ Bright, self motivated individual, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, who can organize a donor database system, work with the Executive Director to implement the Fund Development Plan part of the Strategic Plan, and is able to build up individual and Foundation giving programs.
○ Candidate must have the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines and the ability to maintain composure, effectiveness and a pleasant demeanor under pressure and must exercise sound judgment.
Salary: $1830/mo with extremely flexible hours. No health insurance.
